I’m Rita, the Owner & Founder of Rita Ellis Events. Weddings and events are my passion. I truly believe that I was born to be in this industry! Since a young age my passion for event planning was apparent. When people ask me why I got into this industry and what it is that I am so passionate about, the answer comes easy to me. I love helping people create memories to last a lifetime. The smiles on the faces of my clients is what drives me to work my hardest every day. That expression is always what carries the most meaning to me. When my clients are happy, then I am happy!
When I knew that working in the event industry was my dream career, I decided to pursue the highest education I could in this field. I earned both a Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management, with a minor in Food and Beverage Management, and a Master’s Degree in Hospitality from Johnson & Wales in Providence, Rhode Island. From there I continued on to become a Certified Wedding & Event Planner through Lovegevity University.
I have worked in the industry for about 5 years now. I started as a Marketing and Event Assistant for EGN Consulting during my time in Rhode Island. In this position I was able to help plan and coordinate some amazing social and non-profit events. Upon graduating with my Master’s Degree and becoming a Certified Wedding & Event Planner, I started working as an Assistant Wedding & Event Coordinator. Simultaneously I was working as a Bridal Attendant at The Vineyards at Aquebogue. I wanted to get experience in not only planning and executing a wedding, but in mastering how to attend to a couple on their special day. There is nothing more gratifying than knowing I can relieve a couple of any stress on their big day so that they are at ease and able to enjoy their day to its fullest.
In 2021 I transitioned my employment and accepted a position at RGNY Vineyard as the Assistant Wedding & Events Manager. My time at RGNY Vineyard was a very positive experience, as it led me to form many relationships with some of the best North Fork vendors.

and I started Rita Ellis Events! This has been a dream of mine for a long time. I am so excited to offer my clients my enthusiasm and positivity, organization, attention to small details, and flexibility. I value when clients have a vision and trust that I can bring that to fruition on the day of their event. My ultimate goal with Rita Ellis Events is for clients to leave with a memory that will last them a lifetime.

Classic, fruity, spicy, I’ll take them all! If I’m not drawing up a floorplan, creating a timeline, or doing a final venue walkthrough I am most likely at one of my favorite restaurants sipping on a margarita and trying every food on the menu possible.
